The Louisa Adams gold coin type had been released in 2008. The Louisa Adams gold coin is sixth in the complete series, and had been minted to commemorate the memorable history of President Adams and his family.
The face of the coin features the likeness of Louisa Adams, in an ornate hair style, facing northeast. This half of the coin had been outlined and modeled by Susan Gamble, while it was brought to life through sculpture by Phebe Hemphill.
On the back side of the gold coin, there is a wonderful depiction of a quite young Louisa Adams, together with her son, making a voyage across the continents to Western Europe. According to history, the journey had been made so that the young Louisa Adams and the President could be together in Europe. This side of the coin had been designed and sculpted by Joseph Menna.
These gold coins had been released in the 29th of May, and had been minted to a quite limited number of forty thousand coins. This coin remains available for purchase directly from the Mint of the United States.
